Sizing

It is the initial cut that is made to an asset of dry wood or plank of a certain size, for scantlings and boards from 1 "to 5" thick. Usually, this cut is not too fine nor should therefore it is call raw wood or size. This process is followed by other higher in precision and work.

Brushed

This process will generate, in an edger and then a planer, wood pieces with smooth surfaces and straight with each other, with pinpoint accuracy. The product is a straight piece, which is used to make doors and windows, or simply to be used as a beam with this degree of completion.

Patched

The patch is a process by which superficially are eliminated (1 "deep usually) the most important defects of a beam, either by their use, holes or recesses made when originally installed. On new wood, the patched is used to eliminate the presence of unwanted knots.

The process includes the recess of the Lumber at the site of the defect, usually oval (standard stope) or some special way. We seek a piece of wood similar in grain and color, given the shape of the patch and is inserted under pressure and with a special adhesive. Then, the highlight of the patch brush manually. Subsequently, the beam is fully polished, leaving a fine finish surface, then apply three coats of Sikkens HLS.
